(Jacksonville, Texas) Everyone knows that high school football is king in Texas. Every Friday night during late summer and fall, you'll see thousands of young men and women, too, across the Lone Star State giving it their all on the field to become state champions by Christmas.
While the players are on the field doing their thing, their parents, family members, classmates, cheer squad, and band are in the stands making noise and hyping them up after every big play and cheering them on to victory.

These games are played in some historical, unique, and modern football stadiums, each of which is extremely different. Each one has its own unique feel, look, and history to it. Some have been around for quite some time, while others are sparkling new with all the latest conveniences and loaded with technology.

Dave Campbell's Texas Football recently conducted an online bracket challenge pitting 64 high school football stadiums against each other. For five weeks in the bracket challenge, fans went on the site to name the best stadium they were pitted against.
An East Texas high school football stadium comes out victorious
After the dust settled and after more than 130,000 votes were cast, Jacksonville's Tomato Bowl was named the best high school stadium in Texas according to Dave Campbell's Texas Football fans.
The Tomato Bowl beat out the Puncher Dome in Mason in the finals.

The historic Tomato Bowl is home to the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians. They have been playing football in this stadium since before it was fully completed in 1940.

Jacksonville ISD plans a huge celebration for this title and will be celebrating the Tomato Bowl.
