Justin Theroux posted a questionable image to Instagram on Saturday (October 29) that appeared to insult Brad Pitt, but he's since clarified he meant no ill will toward the actor.

Theroux -- who, sadly, will forever be linked in the general public's mind to Brad Pitt, so long as he's married to Jennifer Aniston -- posted an image of graffiti, designed by artist Nick Flatt, to the photo-sharing app.

The image — which shows a woman giving the viewer the middle finger — has several phrases written across the background with messages like "f—k cocaine,” “f—k politics,” “f—k winter,” “f—k war” and “f—k Facebook.” But the image also includes a slight against Aniston’s ex-husband that Theroux likely didn’t catch before he made the post. Oops!

The Leftovers actor -- who married Aniston on August 6, 2015, and has zero stake in any Brangelina drama -- initially captioned the photo with an excessive number of hashtags (#currentelectionmood #berlin #graffiti #f--kingnickflatt") none of which hinted at the subtle dig. But users were quick to point out the "f---k Brad Pitt" inclusion, prompting Theroux to clarify his intentions.

"And NO this post is not 'shading' anyone because I'm not eleven years old, I mean, seriously," he added as one incredibly long hashtag that really should've just been written out as a sentence.

This isn’t the first time poor Theroux’s been dragged into drama concerning Pitt. Late last month, he was asked to comment on the Benjamin Button actor's divorce from Angelina Jolie during an interview with Business Insider.

"As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children, and that's all you can really say," he said. "It's boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time -- that's horrible."
