Katy Perry didn't hold back in her second of two shows at Dallas' American Airlines Center last Friday night, putting on an explosive performance full of color, costume changes and much more in front of a sold-out crowd.

She brought out all her hits, from leading off with "ROAR," finishing with "Firework" and filling the middle with plenty of other No. 1 songs in a 21-hit setlist.

And mixing in huge blowup emojis, plenty of costume changes, a dancing cat show, Perry's performance was the perfect portrayal of her truly, well, dorky personality.

Perry kept the performance light-hearted and family friendly, quite the opposite of what I saw from Lady Gaga back in July. Much of the crowd was of the younger female variety, and Perry catered to that extremely well.

She rarely became serious, which kept the show moving and the crowd was heavily involved every step of the way. She sat on a huge puppet horse in the midst of an Egyptian theme for "Dark Horse," and later brought a young audience member on stage to sit on a throne for "Birthday," her first encore song.

Perry hasn't apologized for who she is or for her quirky personality, which showed it's still full of success last weekend in Big D.
