Bank of America was in the giving mood over the weekend as one of their ATM machines went berserk, shelling out $100 bills instead of $10 bills, which got folks into a frenzy trying to get in on the action.

According to The Houston Chronicle, the money frenzy lasted for about 2 hours on Sunday (Nov. 24)  at the Bank of America ATM near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1960 and Interstate 45 in Houston, until Harris County Sheriff's deputies arrived and dispersed the growing crowd waiting in line for their chance at extra cash.

For clarity, every time you requested $10, a $100 bill was given out by the machine instead.

No arrests were made near the machine, and best of all, Bank of America later issued a statement with some good news:

This was an incident at a single ATM in Houston caused when a vendor incorrectly loaded $100 bills in place of $10 bills. We have resolved the matter. Customers will be able to keep the additional money dispensed.

An early Christmas present indeed for those lucky enough to have been in the right place at the right time.
