Meet Cade: A 2013 Mix 93-1 Kidd’s Kid

You can imagine how excited a 10 year old child would be after getting the news that he was getting to get to go to Walt Disney World in Florida! Instead of letting your imagination run wild, I'll relay to you what his mom said, "He ran around the house yelling, 'We're going to Disney World'!" Cade continually asks his mom how much long until we get to go? Now I'd say that's excitement!

Cade is one of about 50 kids that has been selected nationally to be a part of the annual Kidd's Kids trip to Disney in November. This trip is made up of kids that suffer from a chronic or terminal illness and they get to go on the trip along with their immediate families too. Cade is a 10 year old who attends third grade at Andy Woods Elementary School in Tyler. He's very popular among the kids and the staff and is friendly to everyone. Cade was born with his umbilical cord around his neck and was not breathing when he was born and suffered a hypoxic brain injury resulting in cerebral palsy and has seizure from time to time too. Cade's mom says he's very blessed in the fact the he's able to walk and talk and can get through mainstream third grade with the help of his specialized computer.

We asked Cade and his family about the upcoming trip to Walt Disney World with Kidd's Kids:

What Disney park are you most excited about visiting and why? I think Magic Kingdom looks like lots of fun with great rides for me.

Who is your favorite Disney character and why? I like Mickey Mouse because he helps his friends no matter what.

What roller coaster in Walt Disney World are you looking forward to riding and why? I don't like roller coasters they are to fast for me.

If you could take anyone from the Kidd Kraddick In The Morning Show on any ride at Walt Disney World with you, which ride and show cast member would you choose? I would like to ride a ride with Kelly because she seems so nice. I would like to find the cars I can drive. Their my favorite.

What show(s) are you looking forward to seeing at Walt Disney World and why? I want to see shows with Mickey, Handy Manny, and Lightening McQueen because they are my favorites.

Why is the Kidd’s Kids Trip To Walt Disney World so important to your family? This trip is important to me because I want to have fun with my family. I have wanted to go to Disney for a long time.

What are you most looking forward to doing while you are at Walt Disney World? It all looks and sounds so fun.

What does your Kidd’s Kid(s) want to be when they grow up and why? He wants to be the owner of the town so he can help everyone out.

If you had a chance to do anything that you wanted while at Walt Disney World, no matter the cost or how crazy, what would you want to do and why? I want to drive the cars on tracks because they are my favorite.

What do you think the most exciting part of the Kidd’s Kids Trip is going to be and why? The whole trip is so exciting. I'm a little scared about flying because I haven't done that before. I just want to do and see everything I can.

Who is your favorite Disney celebrity and why? I like Teddy from Good Luck Charlie because she is so nice

As a parent, what are some of the things that you are looking forward to seeing your child do while on the Kidd’s Kids Trip and why? I just want case to have lots of fun. He is so looking forward to this trip.

What else would you like for us to know about you and your family as it relates to Walt Disney World and the Kidd’s Kids Trip? We are so excited that Cade got picked. We are looking forward to meeting new people and having lots of fun!
