(San Antonio, Texas) There are thousands of people in Texas that drive trucks for a living, often times that means those truckers are sleeping on the road.

According to CDL Life, the city of San Antonio has now officially approved an amendment to the city’s code that now made it illegal for semi-trucks to park within city limits.

This was first submitted approximately 3 years ago, but just last week it was approved.

What Are the Regulations About This New City Code?

Semi-truck parking was already prohibited on residential streets but now all semi-trucks will be banned from parking within 1,000 feet of residential areas between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m.

The fine has also increased significantly, jumping from a $35 ticket to now $500.

The change is expected to take effect on April 19th, 2025.

Trucks will be given a 60-day warning period, and 90-day period before any citations are issued.

Why Does San Antonio Need to Ban Truck Parking Overnight?

It’s interesting that this has been in the works for three years now.

While I don’t live in San Antonio, it makes me wonder how big of an issue this is for all other citizens.

To me, I think that truck drivers are doing so much to help and provide for others, I am not worried about a semi-truck that is parked overnight.

Although I understand that city officials have to do what’s right to protect the city and citizens.

How do you feel about semi-trucks not being able to park overnight in San Antonio?
