Phillip Phillips + Matchbox Twenty Put on Amazing Show at Longview’s Belcher Center [GALLERY]

We say and hear it all the time -- East Texas never gets the big names coming through. This weekend certainly changed that adage for at least one day when American Idol champion Phillip Phillips and Matchbox Twenty came to play at LeTourneau University's Belcher Center in Longview.

Both Phillips and Matchbox Twenty raved about the venue before the show, and when it came time to go on stage, they certainly did put on a show.

More than 2,000 fans rocked the house during both Phillip's set and the two-plus-hour performance by Matchbox Twenty. Rob Thomas and Co. brought out every bit of their catalogue, capped (of course) with "Push."
