I just bought a used MacBook Pro, and I was going along my merry way when I saw that I should be worried about my new to me purchase. Heads up to all you Apple owners. Do you own an Apple 15in MacBook Pro laptop? Triple check your equipment because Apple is having to recall the 15in MacBook Pro Laptop over a battery fire risk. Apple said that "a limited number" of MacBook's sold between September 2015 and February 2017, have batteries that “may overheat and pose a safety risk”.

Apple is asking all the owners of a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15in, Mid 2015) laptop to quit using your computer until you get the battery replaced. The good news is that when you get your battery replaced, it gets done for free as a part of the recall. Unfortunately, the service may take up to two weeks.

How can you find out if your machine needs to get a new battery? Just cross-check the serial number of your MacBook on the Apple recall site. Fin the serial number by clicking on the "Apple menu" and then choose “About this Mac”.
