Tyler’s Rose City Comedy Is Moving To A New Location
One Tyler, Texas, business will soon close. After closing, the space will transform quickly and reopen as something completely different.
Cantina Laredo, located on Old Jacksonville Highway in front of Swann's Furniture, will soon serve its final authentic Mexican food dishes for the last time. It was announced on social media that the 5000-square-foot space would become the new home of a comedy club.
Rose City Comedy will be renovating the space and turning it into a space that is more than three times the size of their current venue on Front Street in Tyler. Rose City Comedy Club will soon have more East Texans laughing hysterically thanks to some high-profile comedians who will be gracing their stage.
Once completed, Rose City Comedy will offer audience members a better choice of seating, more performances, and more types of comedy, along with an elevated appetizer menu and high-end cocktails.
Rose City Comedy says,
While it’s sad to see a local favorite like Cantina Laredo close, this transition provides an exciting opportunity to grow a local brand and enhance East Texas’ arts and entertainment offerings. The new Rose City Comedy aims to become the premier destination for live stand-up and improv comedy performances, contributing to the cultural vibrancy of the South Tyler area."
Once closed, the transformation of Cantina Laredo into the new Rose City Comedy Club is expected to take about three weeks. The grand opening date of December 20th has been set and they're marking the opening of the new venue with a well-known comedian from a TV competition show.
America's Got Talent's Learnmore Jonasi is scheduled to appear
Earning a Golden Buzzer from Terry Crews on America's Got Talent last season, Learnmore was a top-five finalist on the show and he will be the first comedian to perform in the new venue. Check for ticket availability.
This past summer Rose City Comedy hosted comedians like Jon Reap, Chad Prather, and Tim Meadows from SNL. RCC will expand to offer two performances each night on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and will feature a lineup of regional and national stand-up acts.
