Here is some exciting news for coaster and theme park enthusiasts. SeaWorld in San Antonio has announced the first-ever inverted family roller coaster in Texas. The name of the new thrill ride is the Barracuda Strike. I can't wait for this ride to open.

The Barracuda Strike will zip over water.

This will be another ride alongside the water ski lake, and will be the eighth rollercoaster in the Sea World lineup. The Barracuda Strike is scheduled to pen in the spring of 2026. The ride will feature a 90-foot climb and over 1,800feet of track. The Barracuda Strike will be able to hit speeds of 11 miles per hour. SeaWorld San Antonio's park president said in a press release, that the Barracuda Strike will bring thrills for the whole family.

“Barracuda Strike is a game-changer for family thrill rides, and we are excited to bring another great roller coaster to our guests in the spring of 2026,”

SeaWorld San Antonio has already started construction on the Barracuda Strike.

My son and I recently went to SeaWorld for Howl-O-Scream and we noticed construction, new beams, and the "pardon the dust" kind of signs, but had no idea what was being built. Now we know. I am curious to see how the final product will look, considering that this new ride is being built so close to the Steel Eel.
