All hail the queen! Spice Girls, who are pretty much “Spice Moms” at this point, are set to reunite for an incredibly special occasion and it’s the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The event will mark Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th year as the reigning figurehead of England, so it’d be a big deal for the Spice Girls to perform before their country’s beloved monarch. The bash is set to take place on June 4 on the grounds of Buckingham Palace and before the Royal Family itself. Uh, can you say “Nerves?” Despite the importance of the guest of honor, the Spice Girls should not be nervous. They’d nail it, platforms shoes, short dresses and all.

According to a report from Pink is the New Blog, Mel B, AKA Scary Spice, revealed the news, somewhat accidentally, while being interviewed on Australian TV. She was asked if she will congregate with Sporty, Posh, Ginger and Baby for the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London, but said there is a different gig she and her fellow Spices would prefer to play.

She said, “Ooh, I think the Queen’s Jubilee concert is the event I’d be looking at more closely for that to happen.” So Mel B basically outed the info. Mel quickly changed the subject, but then admitted off the air to the show’s crew that she wasn’t kidding. She reportedly said, “I am going to be in such strife for saying that. It’s all so totally bloody top-secret still.” Let’s hope Mel’s little information spill doesn’t jeopardize the Spice Girls actually performing.

The lineup of the Queen’s party hasn’t been announced yet. It’s a hot ticket, since fans will be allowed on palace ground to enjoy the spectacle. But the only way to nab tickets is through a public balloting process.
