Other Texas Cities By The Numbers

Not only did these 7 Texas cities make some waves in the population growth pool, but here’s a look at what the U.S Census Bureau ranked others in the Lone Star State.

  • Houston, the largest city in Texas, added 43,217 new residents, pushing its population to nearly 2.4 million. It was second only to New York City for the largest raw population increase nationwide.
  • San Antonio gained nearly 24,000 new residents, raising its population to 1.5 million.
  • In North Texas, Fort Worth officially surpassed 1 million residents in 2024 which is a major milestone that makes the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex the only region in the country with two cities over 1 million.
  • Dallas, with 1.3 million people, saw a modest increase, but the gap between the two cities continues to narrow — just 318,000 people now separate them.
  • Georgetown and San Angelo both crossed the 100,000 population mark, highlighting rapid growth beyond just the DFW and Houston areas.

From affordable living and job opportunities to new infrastructure and development, it’s clear that Texas isn’t just growing, it’s booming! Yeehaw!
