Texas Man Hides Easter Eggs Filled with Marijuana Around Local Parks
Easter did fall on 4/20 this year and apparently this man wanted to combine the two holidays.
Looks like police in Lufkin, Texas got a tip from some concerned citizens that someone was hiding Easter eggs filled with marijuana at several public parks in town and also at a motel in the area. Word quickly spread on Facebook about the eggs and the police were dispatched to the parks to investigate. The man distributing the eggs showed off five different eggs he was allegedly dropping off around town. Police were able to discover four of them. The fifth was found by a grandfather and his granddaughter at Winston Park in Lufkin.
According to the Lufkin Police Department, what this man was doing was trying to do was to get people to buy drugs from him. Allegedly if you made a purchase, he would give you a hint as to where you could find one of the eggs. The Lufkin Police admit, they did not think someone would actually be giving away drugs for free, but this goes to show that they do take all tips seriously.
Avante Nicholson Has Warrant Out for His Arrest
Although a Facebook page for Avante Nicholson does not appear to exist any longer. Lufkin police say this is the man that was talking about the marijuana egg hunt on Facebook. Avante's page allegedly also had other mentions of him selling drugs in the past, according to the Lufkin Police post.
Here is where Avante Nicolson really messed up, since these eggs filled with marijuana were left at drug free zones (public parks around Lufkin) his charges will now be more severe. Three of these eggs were left in drug free zones, which gives him three felony warrants out for his arrest. He's facing another charge of delivery of marijuana. If found guilty, according to Texas law, these charges can carry a penalty of up to $10,000 in fines and jail time of up to two years.
