Texas Representative Plans to File Bill for Schools to Start After Labor Day
Looks like a new bill could be proposed in 2025 that would have your kids still enjoying summer this week.
Labor Day is Always the First Monday of September
This coming Monday many consider to be the unofficial end of summer. Kids are usually back in school, football is starting up, but here in Texas. It's still ridiculously hot outside. That is why Texas Representative Jared Patterson has an idea for the state of Texas that people will love or hate.
Republican Representative Jared Patterson of Denton County
The North Texas representative was throwing out some "bill ideas' online this week for what could happen in the next legislative session in 2025. Something he threw out that got a lot of attention was a proposal that schools in the state of Texas start after Labor Day.
Jared Patterson's Bill Idea
Over the past few years, we have heard about the strain on the Texas electrical grid. Jared is proposing to give the grid less stress in these brutal summer temperatures, by not allowing schools to start until after Labor Day. Judging by the comments on his post, people either love it or hate it.
Just scrolling through the comments it's the same thing over and over. Brilliant idea or the dumbest idea possible. Obviously bills fail all the time in the state of Texas so we will see how this one goes for Representative Patterson if he decides to go through with it in 2025. For those of you with kids, let me know if you would want to see this.
