We have a reputation here in Texas for doing things in a big way. But even if you’ve lived here your whole life, there’s a good chance you still don’t know half the strange but true stuff that’s gone down in the Lone Star State.
Case and point: Did you know Texas used to be its own country? Yep, complete with a president and its own money. Or the fact that the King Ranch in Texas is larger than the state of Rhode Island. You read that right. What about Bugs Bunny's popular catchphrase, "What's up, Doc?". Yep, that came from Texas, too.

Oh, and if you thought Dr. Pepper came from some soda lab in Atlanta, then you’d be wrong. That sugary goodness was born in Waco, Texas, back in 1885.
