The Best Classic Board Games for Your Christmas Gatherings
(KNUE-FM) We know that the holidays are quickly approaching; Christmas is just a few weeks away. For many Texans that means there’s a lot to get done in a short time. But once you get past the stress, shopping, and cleaning, there will be great times spent with friends and family.
Why Board Games Are a Holiday Tradition
But what are your plans when you get together around Christmas? One of my absolute favorite things besides watching football and eating too much food is playing board games. I will admit that sometimes the games get a little competitive (especially Monopoly), but they are always so much fun.

Games You Might Want to Avoid
Be careful when choosing games—some newer ones like Cards Against Humanity are PG-13+ and might not fit all family gatherings. Just be careful when you’re choosing a game to play with your family and friends.
Although it’s crazy to think that some of the most popular board games now are the ones that have been around since the 1970s. In fact, one of my very favorite games, The Game of Life, is from that time, but there are so many others that came out around that same time that are still some of the best around.

The Classic Board Games That Never Go Out of Style
If you’re planning on playing some board games later this month when you get together with friends and family, you should plan on playing one of these games. They are classic, loved by most, and still so much fun! Hopefully, you still have many of these games in the closet, maybe it’s time to get in a practice game before everyone shows up.
