There's a company called My Plates, which is the official specialty license plate company in the state of Texas. Their website takes you through the process of ensuring everyone in your rearview knows how cool you are with a personalized plate. Once a year, they have an auction where you can get your dream personalized message plate.

According to My Plates, the most expensive plate message in Texas is 12THMAN. It sold at auction for an eye-watering $115,000 in 2013. I don't know who has that plate, but that's an insane amount of money for it. I'm not sure I would want to know what it feels like to drop over 100K on a plate.

Current Plate Message Auction Sees Bids In The Thousands

The current auction, which lasts until November 20, has several plate messages in the $600 to $1,200 range. There isn't anything close to $115K brought in by 12THMAN. The most expensive plate message at the moment is 006, which is currently sitting at  $5,250. Someone must be a big fan of Sean Bean in the cinematic masterpiece GoldenEye.
