When it comes to deciding which Texas Lottery scratch-off ticket to buy, I suggest you 'Think Pink.'

Hot Pink 7s Scratch-Off is Overdue

Several weeks ago, I wrote a story highlighting two scratch-off games whose odds of winning their top prizes had increased by over 120% -- the Limited Edition Mega Loteria game and the Hot Pink 7s game.

In the last two weeks, there have been two $250,000 winners on the Loteria game, but the top remaining jackpots for Hot Pink 7s remain elusive.

This $5 game features five top prizes of $100,000. Only one of those has been claimed. That occurred on May 13 when a winning jackpot ticket was sold at a store in Del Rio. The other four $100K payouts remain unclaimed.

Using approximations from the Texas Lottery Scratch Off Games website, 78% of the Hot Pink 7s tickets have been purchased. That means the odds of winning one of the four remaining top payouts HAVE INCREASED BY AROUND 263% as compared to when the game first went into circulation.

It's Still A Long Shot To Win The Jackpot

Before you make a mad dash to buy as many Hot Pink 7s tickets as you can, keep in mind that the chances of winning $100,000 on this game are still slim.

When the game was first introduced, your odds of winning a top jackpot payout were 1 in 1,440,000. Now, those odds stand around 1 in 396,000.

As a comparison, that means the entire population of Arlington, Texas, could buy a Hot Pink 7s ticket, and only one would win $100,000.

But if you're going to spend $5 on a scratch-off game, you might as well purchase the one whose odds of winning a jackpot have increased by over 260%.
