Most restaurant owners and managers give it 100% when it comes to providing phenomenal customer service, clean facilities in front and back of the house, and most importantly, a quality meal that will leave customers and guests wanting to come back again.

While that is the goal for the majority of East Texas restaurants, it is tough to be hitting on all cylinders and being perfect every time. There are, unfortunately, some bad days that all restaurants face. In some cases, a NET Health inspector will happen to stop in for a surprise inspection while some of these places in Smith County are experiencing a bad day.

If it weren't for these surprise inspections, some restaurants would continue to have 'bad days' and never address or correct any issues and eventually someone would end up getting sick. That's why inspections must be done.

Before we get to the doom and gloom of those restaurants that had some issues when the health inspector stopped in, these area restaurants had zero demerits:

  • Yummi Sushi - 172 Centennial Pkwy - Tyler
  • China King - 4245 S Broadway Ave - Tyler
  • Juicy J's Tx Melts Commissary - 12685 FM 2710 - Lindale
  • San Miguel Mexican Restaurant & Bar - 2862 Old Henderson Hwy - Tyler
  • Starbucks # 83006 - 16243 N US Hwy 271 - Tyler

That might not seem like a lot and that's probably because NET Health inspectors seem to be focusing a lot of attention on inspecting school, hotel, health care facility, and apartment complex pools and hot tubs throughout Smith County. During these inspections, they are looking to make sure the facility has the right amount of chemicals added to the pool or hot tub.

In between all those inspections though, restaurants are still being inspected and these 13 Smith County restaurants had some issues when NET Health inspectors stopped by for an inspection.
