Tyler’s Bloody Mary Bucket List – 5 Places You Must Try It At
Whether you're recovering from the office Christmas party, or gathering with friends to celebrate, one cocktail rises above the rest, the Bloody Mary.
After completing a totally unofficial poll of my friends, I now have a Tyler Bloody Mary Bucket List to check off.
Recently, I have found myself enjoying Bloody Marys almost weekly due to the price and proximity of this cocktail at Torchy's Tacos. After enjoying one last weekend, I wondered which other restaurants around town offer a delicious 'bloody.'
Jul's was one suggestion, but my friend didn't elaborate on why. I love the atmosphere in their bar, and their beautiful patio that overlooks water. So, it's been added to the list.
1836 Texas Kitchen received lots of love from my friends. They apparently have an opportunity to make your own which sounds super exciting! Their garnishes include: pickled okra, bacon, lime, olives, celery, etc. Owner Carlos Villapudua said, “We use a local vodka Dirks vodka. It’s made by kiepersol. It’s a grape vodka it has some sweet notes to it so it complements the tomato very well.”
Another popular choice was The Grove. If you haven't been there, the outdoor patio and grounds are beautiful and whimsical. They typically have live music during brunch, and lawn games for kids and adults alike. Their Bloody Marys come with great garnishes including a slice of bacon and a red pepper, yum!
If you venture Downtown you'll find Bloody Marys by the Pitcher at Sports Zone. I'm confident the pitcher is meant to be shared among friends, though I haven't verified or tried to drink the whole thing myself!
So if you're looking to enhance your brunch experience, recover from a hangover, or just get a little nutrition with your alcohol, this is the list to start with in Tyler. And if you have a favorite in the area, don't keep that wealth of knowledge hidden. Share with the class!
