Tyler’s Gusano’s Chicago Style Pizzeria Joint Put The Last Pizza In The Oven This Week
If you're craving Chicago style pizza in Tyler, you now have one less option, because Gusano's on Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler closed its doors this week. A posting on the front door says,
Effective June 1st 2017 Gusano's Chicago-Style Pizzeria has decided to close for business."
This is pretty sad because I really liked their pizza and it was close to my home. My birthday was just a couple of weeks back and we always go out to eat to celebrate birthdays and this was where I wanted to go with my family and quite a few of our friends! Gusano's always had great pizza and the service was great too. Sad to see another Tyler area restaurant go under.
However, with Gusano's going out of business there is still quite a huge choice on where to go to get pizza in south Tyler. When thinking about it, I came up with the following list of pizza joints that are bound by Old Jacksonville Hwy., Loop 323, S. Broadway and Toll 49! These are the pizza places that are within that box:
- Rounder's Pizza
- Old Chicago Pizza
- Little Caesars Pizza
- Bruno's Pizza
- Ken's Pizza
- Domino's Pizza
- Rotolo's Pizzeria
- Marco's Pizza
- Pizza Hut
- Papa Murphy's Take and Bake Pizza
- Papa John's Pizza
- Ken's Pizza
- Palia's Pizza Cafe
- Pie Five (soon to open)
- Chuck E. Cheese's
- Where's Rufus
- BJ's Brewhouse
After looking at the list above, that's a lot of pizza choices in just those few square miles. I will without a doubt find another favorite pizza location near me.
