10 Things Happening Across East Texas This Weekend – October 3

(East Texas) With the weekend approaching, many East Texans are wondering what there is to do this weekend. To kick off the weekend, there's high school football on Friday night; the East Texas State Fair continues through Sunday, along with the Titus County Fair. Lots of shopping opportunities at Canton's First Monday Trade Days, and fun at Piney Park in Marshall with the whole family.

You'll want to keep an umbrella around this weekend because there is a good chance that it'll be raining at some point. Thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Polo moving across Mexico from the Pacific Ocean, East Texas could receive a good amount of rain. Anywhere from an inch to maybe four inches in places. So be weather-aware and never cross flooded roadways. You never know if the road surface has been washed away.

Now that fall is here, the pumpkin patches will soon be popping up, and Halloween decorations will soon be on display. That also means that haunted houses will soon be opening too; one opens this weekend in Tyler. Get the details below.

East Texas State Fair

It's fair time in East Texas. This year's fair will feature a rodeo, livestock show, a dairy demo, pig races, goat mountain, petting zoo, chick hatchings, and many other demonstrations from vendors and local farmers. There will be live music nightly in addition to all of your fair food favorites and carnival rides.

The East Texas State Fair is held at The Park at East Texas on Hwy. 64 W, outside of Loop 323 in Tyler. Entrance will be on Patton Road.

Titus County Fair

Wednesday through Saturday
Titus County Civic Center - Mount Pleasant

This is the 51st annual Titus County Fair. This fair features a livestock show, numerous contests, commercial exhibits, youth academic contests, carnival rides, food, and musical entertainment.

Canton First Monday Trade Days

First Monday Trade Days grounds - Canton

It is time to shop until you can't shop or walk anymore! The world's largest flea market is open for business, and vendors will spread out over 450 acres with their vintage goods for sale, along with homemade crafts, antiques, soaps, animals, clothing, and so much more. Daingerfield Days Fall Festival is back. For more than 15 years, the event has provided entertainment for the community. This year will feature a full carnival, and now it's a three-day event!
