TYLER – A Shreveport woman is accused of robbing the Regions Bank in Tyler Thursday in and while in police custody confessed to last month’s robbery of the Telco Plus Credit Union.

Police say Vanessa Ashford , 27, was armed with a large  butcher style knife and wearing a mask when she walked in the Regions Bank on the SSE Loop shortly after 1pm demanding money from one of the tellers.

Bank employees were able to give police a description of her car and a partial license plate number..Officers spotted the vehicle on University Blvd. where they made the arrest. After a search of her car, police found a bag full of money and an exploded die pack in the trunk.

Ashford is being held on two counts of aggravated Robbery with bonds totaling $750,000 .

Longview Burglary Suspect Sought

LONGVIEW – Police are seeking a suspect who used a credit card stolen during a vehicle burglary.

The stolen credit card  from the vehicle had been used to purchase items from a kiosk located in the Longview Mall. Officers were able to retrieve video from that location and are attempting to identify a suspect in the case.

The suspect is described as a heavy set black male, possibly in his 30’s, balding, and has a goatee. If someone has information regarding the identity of this individual they are asked to contact the Longview Police Department at 903-237-1199. Lufkin Nurse’s Fate in the Hands of Jury

LUFKIN — Jury deliberations are underway in the trial of a former Texas nurse accused of killing five patients by injecting them with bleach. Jurors in Lufkin yesterday began deliberating in the case of Kimberly Saenz. If convicted, she could face the death penalty.
