This Sunday (July 27th) marks a big anniversary for Mix 93-1 and for the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show -- it's the one year anniversary of the untimely death of Kidd Kraddick. Kidd past away suddenly last year while attending a charity golf tournament in New Orleans for Kidd's Kids, a charity that Kidd himself started more than 20 years ago.

Kidd believed strongly in the 'pay if forward' movement saying it's the best investment you can ever make. Without knowing it, on his final show before his death, Kidd read an email that he received from a listener who was thanking J-Si for helping her purchase groceries for her family by giving her money. After reading that, Kidd said he was very proud of J-Si for helping a stranger and not looking for recognition and telling him that was the best investment he's ever made.

In this spirit and the memory of Kidd Kraddick, the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show are asking members of Kidd Nation to "Do It For Kidd" this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 25-27. The cast members want to continue his legacy and hope that listeners are inspired by Kidd Kraddick to continue to perform random acts of kindness. Kellie Rasberry explains the spirit of this remembrance this way:

Do It For Kidd can be as simple as buying a cup of coffee for the person behind you in line, checking on an elderly person, reading to a group of children, helping out single parents, mowing your neighbor’s lawn, babysitting for a couple who needs a night out or giving flowers to someone going through a rough time. We're asking our listeners to use their time, talents and resources either to help out a person in need or simply to make someone else's day brighter."

When Kidd Nation members perform random acts of kindness this weekend and if they're asked why they did it, they should simply reply with "Kidd's memory inspired me" or "I did it for Kidd!" The show's also asking Kidd Nation members to participate and share this powerful movement through social networking sites by using the hashtag #ForKidd.

When the show returns on Monday, July 28, there will be a special moment of noise at 7:30 a.m. to honor Kidd along with the cast members sharing their favorite memories of the man who gave so much to them and many, many other people for so many years.
