Elizabeth Taylor, who died Wednesday in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure, was one of Hollywood’s most famous and popular stars, with roles in such classic movies as ‘Giant,’ ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’ and ‘A Place in the Sun.’

Though health problems plagued her entire career, Taylor proved to be one of Hollywood’s biggest survival stories, earning two Best Actress Oscars and a slew of other awards and recognition from her peers.

We’ve put together a photo gallery that captures Taylor’s incredible career on the big screen, from her early days as a childhood actress onward. Check out the photos now.
