Teenage ‘American Idol‘ contestant Hollie Cavanagh performed Carrie Underwood‘s hit ‘Jesus Take the Wheel’ on tonight’s episode, where contestants were challenged to pick a song by their own personal idol. While the Texas native put her heart and soul into the performance, the judges had mixed feelings about her rendition of Underwood’s song.

Country gal Skylar Laine reminds us of Reba, but she idolizes Miranda Lambert and that’s whose song she chose to perform on tonight’s (March 28) episode of ‘American Idol.’ The hopefuls were allowed to sing songs by their own personal idols and Laine did Lambert proud with her crackling performance.

Nicki Minaj and Scotty McCreery are performing on ‘American Idol‘! Not together, unfortunately, but hey — even if we have to keep waiting for our long-held dream of seeing a Minaj/McCreery duet, this news is still pretty awesome.

The always emotional Jeremy Rosado attempted Stevie Wonder‘s ’Ribbon in the Sky’ on ’American Idol‘ tonight to mixed results. The all-around nice guy, who was saved by Jennifer Lopez last week during the wild-card round, never found that special Stevie Wonder sweet zone.
