Texas is full of so much history but as one of the biggest states in the country that makes a lot of sense. Of course there is history here, Texas is connected to Mexico and a lot of Texas belonged to Mexico before it was purchased or taken by the US. With the millions of people who have lived in the Lone Star State, of course its full of mind blowing stories and insane facts. Lets explore a few crazy ones.
Texas Is MASSIVE

Now this one isn't a secret but sometimes its kind of easy to forget just how big Texas is. Texas is the 2nd biggest state in both population and area. Our population is 2nd to California by only about 10 million people. The state is 2nd in size only to Alaska, which is way bigger than Texas but doesnt have nearly as many people.
Texas is also SO big that if it existed as its own country, it would have the 10th largest economy in the world.
Of the 3 main power grids in the country, 1 of them is used specifically for the entire state of Texas. This grid was built for Texas during WWII to help keep up with the critical war supplies that were being built here.
