The wait is almost over, Tyler.

Austin-based Torchy's Tacos is almost ready to open its doors at 426 ESE Loop 323, across the street from Robert E. Lee High School.

And they're opening with a party.

Torchy's is having a "soft opening" with a public preview party from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2. The uber-popular taco joint will be giving out free tacos, drinks, chips and dips.

The next day will be Torchy's big grand opening, where the restaurant will make your first taco a free one from 7 to 10 a.m., from the full menu for dine-in or takeout. You can see more details on Torchy's Facebook event page.

Torchy's will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.

Torchy’s specializes in all sorts of tacos, from a Fried Avocado taco, to the Trailer Park (fried chicken with green chiles, pico and more), to the Republican, which features grilled jalapeno sausage, shredded cheese and more.

Torchy’s popularity exploded not long after the original trailer location on South 1st Street in Austin became a must-eat destination. There are now 33 locations, with 32 of those in Texas and the one coming soon in Denver.

How ready are you for Torchy's to be open?
