Alexa devices were hot gifts over the holidays, and as you're setting them up there are several things you might want to try to make life more organized.  With Alexa's help, we'll never forget anything again.

Sometimes my kids will ask Alexa to remind them to "fly in 1 minute," and they'll jump off the couch when she prompts them.  Some Alexa abilities are more useful than others.

Using some suggestions from Amazon along with my own trial and error, I've come up with a few ways that Alexa can help run the house in 2020.

20 Ways That Alexa Can Help You Get Organized

"Alexa, set a timer for 10 minutes."
"Alexa, how much time is left on the timer?"
"Alexa, set a 2-minute timer for brushing teeth."
"Alexa, set my alarm for every weekday at 7 AM."
"Alexa, snooze for 5 minutes."

"Alexa, set a reminder."
"Alexa, remind me to call mom on Saturday at 2 PM."
"Alexa, remind me to take the laundry out in 20 minutes."
"Alexa, remind me to walk the dog every day at 6 PM."
"Alexa, what are my reminders?"
"Alexa, delete all reminders."

"Alexa, add eggs to my shopping list."
"Alexa, what’s on my shopping list?"
"Alexa, put ‘call the plumber’ on my to-do list."
"Alexa, create a list."
"Alexa, remove ‘call the plumber’ from my to-do list."

"Alexa, schedule a meeting with Abby."
"Alexa, move my meeting with Abby."

“Alexa, find me a recipe for banana bread."
“Alexa, how many cups are in a quart?”

And the best part is we're on your Alexa device too, so once you enable our skill on the Alexa app she'll ready to stream the same great music that's on the radio whenever you get a craving.  That helps while you're cleaning the house and doing some actual manual organizing in addition to setting up Alexa commands.

Oh, and Alexa, while we're waiting on that reminder for the kids to fly, can you also remind them to clean their rooms and feed the pets?  Thanks for having Mama's back.
