A total of five Texas Democratic Caucus member have tested positive for COVID-19. On Saturday, it was reported that three members tested positive for the virus and upon further precautionary testing two more tested positive.

These lawmakers went to Washington, D.C. to rebut GOP priority voting bill during the special legislative session. All of the Democratic members who tested positive all have been fully vaccinated. San Antonio Representative Trey Martinez Fischer and Austin Representative Celia Israel both revealed that they were two of the five that tested positive for COVID-19. The other representatives that tested positive do not have to reveal who they are if they do not want to.

This is a reminder that COVID-19 is still out there lurking so it is very important to protect your immune system. So people have gotten the vaccine and think that they are invincible. I did not vaccinate nor did I vaccinate my daughter. We have never caught COVID-19 and continued our normal routines. I did take extra measures to protect our immune systems with special dietary practices. Hopefully it continues to work because I have no intentions of vaccinating. As we see with this case, it is not 100% either.

According to the CDC only a small percentage of people who have been fully vaccinated will still catch COVID-19. It has been reported that last week the average number of COVID-19 cases has increases by almost 1,000 and more than 2,500 people have be hospitalized due to COVID-19. On the other hand the highly contagious delta variant of COVID has been confirmed in three cases from a recent outbreak at a Houston church camp.

Republican lawmakers are ready to get back to work and want the Democrats to come back to Texas to work. A good number of the Democrat lawmakers have made it clear that they do not plan on returning to Texas any time soon.
