Adele‘s fame has reached new heights in 2011, and now the 23-year-old can list another achievement on her long list of accolades: iTunes Artist of the Year.

Not only did the British songbird’s sophomore record, ’21,’ score the top-selling album on iTunes this year, but her lead kiss-off track, ‘Rolling in the Deep,’ also landed the No. 1 spot on iTunes’ Top-Selling Songs of 2011 chart.

Adele beat out pop heavyweights like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Rihanna on the year-end album chart, and took home top honors over Bruno Mars, LMFAO and Maroon 5 in the year-end songs chart. Naturally, her iTunes domination earned her the coveted Artist of the Year award.

Adele has had a landmark year, landing the No. 1 spot on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums and Singles of 2011, touting it as “state-of-the-art retro soul, with touches of Motown, bossa nova and 1970s piano pop.”

Naturally, the star earned a slew of Grammy nominations, six to be exact. Adele is up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Short Form Music Video for ‘Rolling in the Deep’; Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Someone Like You’; as well as Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year for ’21.’
