Love the American Girl Dolls? They're coming to life on March 29, at the Belcher Center in Longview.

Girls of all ages will enjoy this new and original musical which celebrates the 'power of girls.' According to the Longview New-Journal, the musical personifies the lives of six American Girl dolls along with their owners.

Themes of friendship are explored through a camping trip, and the audience takes a trip through history in the 90-minute show. Girls are are shown how they can, "Overcome anything and achieve their dreams, so long as they stay true to themselves and support one another!"

Girl power is at work behind the scenes, too as the creator includes Sandy Rustin, an actress and award winning playwright, Gina Rattan and a 13-woman team.

“This is the first time I’ve ever been a part of a show at this scale that’s been entirely female,” Rustin said. “It’s going great. It has been totally a joy to watch the actresses bring it to life.”
