Amy Winehouse Documentary Expected Summer 2015 [VIDEO]

'Amy' a documentary based on the life of singer/song-writer Amy Winehouse has just been picked up by an American film distributor with an expected release Summer 2015.

The documentary includes footage of Winehouse before she was famous. In the trailer you hear her talk about her desire to be a musician.

"I'm not a girl trying to be a star or trying to be anything other than a musician," the singer says.  When an interviewer asks her thoughts on being famous, she replies, "I don't think I'm going to be at all famous. I don't think I could handle it. I would probably go mad, do you know what I mean? I would go mad."

Asif Kapadia directs the documentary on Winehouse, and is familiar with the tale of star lost too young from his work on Senna. Those unfamiliar with Formula One racing may be unaware of the Brazilian race star who died at the young age of 34, but you don't have to be a super fan to be moved by the film.

Her death in 2011, immediately placed her into an unlucky group of talented musicians who left this world too earl, the 27 club. Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison are also members of this fateful group recently explored in a book by Howard Sounes.
