Ready to get on the road his weekend?

After a long day at work, you head home to your Texas home. You are getting ready to make dinner, but first, you check your mail. You might as well find out now what bills you have to pay. As you open your mailbox, you discover mail that is not addressed to you.

Nothing could be better around Halloween time in Amarillo than a perfectly good scare. I am more into being scared by things that can really happen. So when it comes to scary movies one of my favorites is The Strangers. I mean someone terrorizing you at home could happen.

One of the biggest brags about Texas is the fact that everything is bigger and better in Texas. I mean it's true. It even gives us more and more chances to make sure that if something is not bigger here we work on it until it is.

It is fair to say that the Amarillo area has one of the most beautiful state parks nearby. We are so lucky to have Palo Duro Canyon right in our backyard. We have such a beautiful place for all the hikes. We are lucky to have a chance to take a trip to see Texas - The Outdoor Musicals, the canyon has so much to offer.

When you visit different Texas cities you look forward to checking out the skyline. Those buildings grace the skies and give the residents something to look at. Even in Amarillo, we can check out the First Bank Southwest Tower and even the Santa Fe Building.

As long as there have been cars on our Texas roads there have been car accidents. Some things just never change. The only thing that does change is the type of vehicle and the people.

When you think of the Alamo you think about all of the history that has happened there. I learned all about it in the seventh grade, Texas History. That was the year I moved to Texas. Nothing like a crash course in everything Texas.

These are the stories that make our nightmares real in Texas. This Texas family is living it. Of course, it doesn't matter how old your kids are things like this should never happen. As your child grows and starts living their own lives you never stop worrying as a parent.

The best part about a road trip in Texas, or really anywhere, is discovering those weird roadside attractions. You see things that you can't really explain why they are there. Oh, but you are so glad that they are around.

Texas is unlike any place you could ever live. Trust me I know. Texas does its own thing a lot of the time. We have things that only happen in Texas. We have smells that just bring us back.

There are just some stories you don't expect to see coming out of a Texas jail. One of those is that a shooting has occurred. That is exactly what happened recently in San Antonio.
