One Of Tyler's Favorite Mexican Restaurants Had To Deal With An Alarming Setback.

Over the last few years, Ruby's Mexican Restaurant has had some explosive growth as they have expanded from one location to 5 and a food truck due to their delicious food.

But unfortunately, employees at its original location came to work to find that they had been the victim of a burglary.

Ruby's Posted About The Incident On Its Facebook Page.

According to the post on Ruby's Official Facebook page, someone broke in the restaurant located at 2021 E. Gentry Parkway and ransacked the place.

The store's manager upon arrival to the store at around 6:40 a.m., found food and drinks “all over the restaurant”, phones were taken, and a doormat was used to break a window.

But employees found the alleged perpetrator still inside the building when they arrived and immediately contacted Tyler Police.

According to a report from KLTV, Tyler PD PIO Andy Erbaugh later confirmed that the suspect is Timothy Gardner, 26, of Tyler. He was booked into the Smith County Jail on charges of burglary of a building and possession of a controlled substance.

If you're worried about whether or not you'll be able to stop by and get your taco fix, no worries because the location remains open and they expect to have their broken window replaced by the end of the day.

Ruby's thanked the community for its continued support and if you know anything more about this case, contact the Tyler Police Department.
