The discovery was made in the 5900 block of Old Road in Nacogdoches County. Nacogdoches Police, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, and the Texas Rangers worked diligently with LPD and ACSO to process the scene.

The remains have not been positively identified. According to KTRE, officials are exercising caution and waiting to identify the remains until after an autopsy is complete.

Robert Saxton, a 79-year-old white male, remains missing. A challenge in the search is the lack of a current photograph.
