As far as Elon Musk is concerned, yes - some Texas residents may soon find themselves unable to use their own property.

Elon Musk and Space X are pretty much entrenched in Texas and now it seems he wants to run the state completely. At the least he wants control over a certain, (beautiful), chunk of it, including what property owners do with their land.

Closing certain Texas beaches wasn't enough I guess.

Starbase, Texas is what the current Space X launching facility is called. Located near Brownsville, Texas it's home to - pretty much - only Star Base employees living in travel trailers. The bigwigs live in modest homes built near the Space X epicenter and Elon Musk himself has a home there.

Nearby the city, aka Boca Chica Village, is a stretch of beach that locals and visitors alike love to visit. It's home to a delicate ecosystem and part of it was the site of the LAST battle of the Civil War.

Elon insists that beach be closed when he's launching rockets and, I guess, I get the safety concerns associated with that. Cape Canaveral does it but now Elon wants more.

What Does Elon Musk Want?

First of all, he wants to close the nearby beaches whenever he likes, not around the timelines already agreed upon. He has also now sent all occupants of Boca Chito a notice saying:

THE CITY OF STARBASE IS HOLDING A HEARING THAT WILL DETERMINE WHETHER YOU MAY LOSE THE RIGHT TO CONTINUE USING YOUR PROPERTY FOR ITS CURRENT USE, PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY. - CNBC

The city of Starbase, mind you, is controlled mostly by Starbase high-ups and employees. You can read the entire notice here. I admit, I haven't read the entire notice word for word but, it sounds like Elon and company want to take over the entire Boca Chito area, bring it under THEIR control and everybody else can just "F" off.

It's not just the beach anymore, it's everything if this passes. I don't even live there and I don't like this. The precedent it sets is scary.

Spaceport America and Blue Origin are good way out in the middle of nowhere, why does Starbase City need control of a beautiful and delicate beach area? Thinking of building beach condos and expensive viewing areas Elon? Maybe docking points for yachts carrying overseas space aficionados or business partners? Hmmm ...

If you ask most people who their favorite Star Wars character is, the odds of them naming anyone other than Han Solo are approximately three thousand seven hundred and twenty to one.

The loveable space pirate is pure swagger, and when you stop to think about it, he's probably the closest thing to a Texan out there in that galaxy far, far away.

Let's take a look at 10 reasons Han Solo would fit right in here in the Lone Star State.
