I know summer hasn't started yet, but I'm already thinking Fall!  We'll be getting our fill of carnival rides, shows and food!  One of the best parts of a fair is the food - corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes, caramel apples, turkey legs and everything fried!  The State Fair of Texas in Dallas is the best place to find all of your favorite fried concoctions.

For years fair goers have been enjoyed fried treats like deep fried bacon, butter, margaritas, bread pudding, Twinkies, Snickers bars, peaches & cream and more.  This year mark's the 100th celebration of the State Fair of Texas and veteran deep fryer Christi Erpillo plans on deep frying the #2 selling Girl Scout Cookie, the Samoa.

Epillo's family has been deep frying goodies at the fair of decades and this new item to their menu took a little time in perfecting the perfect fried Girl Scouts Samoa.  After experimenting with different batters, egg washes, and crusts, Christi found that wonton wrappers work the best and keep the integrity of the Samoa.

Now only if they could get the thin mint to deep fry everyone would be happy.  But according to the Girl Scout bakery it's not possible because the peppermint oil in the cookie would separate when it hit the oil.

Look for the deep fried Samoa to make it's debut at this year's Texas State Fair in late September through mid October.
