Cowboys Corral: Disaster in Dallas As Packers Shock Cowboys To End Season

What should have been a joyous occasion for the Dallas Cowboys, turned into a disaster as the Green Bay Packers vaulted them from playoff contention with a 48-32 win.

The Cowboys went into the wildcard round with all of the momentum and seemingly all the right pieces to the puzzle. They had not lost at home all year and were blowing everybody out while averaging almost 37 points a game.

Since the loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Dak Prescott had thrown 32 touchdown passes to only 5 interceptions, was top three in passing yards, and was in serious talks about being the league's MVP.

All of that came crashing down as the Green Bay Packers walked into AT&T Stadium, messed some stuff up, and walked out with a win that advanced them to the divisional round of the NFC Playoffs.

The Cowboys were ill-prepared for what was about to take place as the Packers stormed out to a 27-0 lead before Jerry Jones could settle into his luxury suite. No, these Cowboys were not even close to the team that had secured the second seed in the NFL playoffs and an NFC EAST division win.

Dak Prescott, who was horrible on this day, summed up his performance the best.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Dak continued to have problems in the playoffs. But, his performance was not the only Cowboys performance that suffered.

The Cowboy's defense, one of the best in the league, could not stop the Packers no matter what they wanted to do. Aaron Jones scorched the defense with 118 yards and 3 touchdowns while quarterback Jordan Love completed all but five passes and passing for 3 touchdowns.

The Cowboys tried frantically for a comeback but as been in most cases when they fall behind big, it was simply too little too late.

Where Do The Cowboys Go From Here?

The Cowboys were simply outcoached and outperformed by a team that quite frankly we should have beat, and beat by a landslide. The Packers had more heart and were better prepared than McCarthy's Cowboys.

McCarthy has taken the Cowboys to a 12-win season in each of the last three seasons. But each season has ended in heartache as the Cowboys just simply looked underprepared in each loss.

With many high-profile coaches on the market now looking for a new home, including Bill Belichick, is it time for Jerry Jones to look at making a change at the top?

Jerry Jones certainly looked like he was ready to pull the trigger on a move at halftime. I for one think we've seen the last Cowboys game coached by Mike McCarthy. At least I hope so. I think it's time for a change.
