One Texas family is mourning the loss of their loved one as a CVS security guard was murdered in downtown Dallas while he was just doing his job. 

NBCDFW has the heartbreaking details about 39-year-old Anthony Egeonu who was working his normal job downtown Dallas on Main Street near North Akard Street when the shooting took place. 

Dallas CVS Security Shot and Killed on the Job 

The murder took place on Friday, January 24th at around 11:00 p.m. when police were called to the CVS store. 

Egeonu was working his security job and noticed two people shoplifting, he made them aware that he was them, that is when he was shot, and the suspects ran away. 

He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but it was too late.  

The husband and father of three kids ranging from 16 to 4 years old was gone. 

Suspects Were Arrested for the CVS Shooting in Dallas 

It was late the next day, Saturday, January 25th when Dallas Police announced they had arrested two juveniles for the shooting that took place.  

Their names are not being released due to the fact that they are minors. 

Residents Worry About More Violence in Dallas 

As you would expect, residents who live in the area are asking the police to act and fight back against the crime that is taking place.  

It’s reported that 30 calls for service at that CVS took place in December alone mostly due to theft or drug offences.  

Let this be a reminder to be very cautious if you are going to be in the downtown Dallas area anytime soon.
