Did You Know These 5 Interesting Facts About Michael Jackson?

Michael Jackson was the biggest superstar on the planet and for good reason, but also he was probably one of the biggest mysteries to date due to his antics and lifestyle.

Outside of being one of the most recognized superstars of all time there are somethings about him that I didn't know about him that completely blew my mind and I wanted to share a few of them with you to give you the same shock value.

1.  THE DUET WITH PRINCE THAT NEVER HAPPENED - WHO'S BAD?

The 1987 release of his seventh studio album "BAD" the title track was actually supposed to be a duet with the 'Purple' one Prince.  However, that duet never happened because of the song lyrics.

In an interview with Chris Rock, Prince confirmed that he turned down the duet because of the opening line and honestly I totally understand, but it's hilarious!

The first line of that song is 'your butt is mine'. Then I said 'Who's going to sing that to who?'.. because you sure aren't singing that to me, and I sure ain't singing it to you'

Wish they could have gotten together on another track it would have been crazy!

2.  Michael Jackson was the first African-American artist to appear on MTV for his video Billie Jean.

Back in the day MTV didn't cater much to African-American artists because it was labeled as a rock station.  Walter Yetnikoff, the former president of CBS records talked about how  MTV would not play "Billie Jean" or "Beat It" and in return threatened to pull EVERY artist on his label from MTV and the rest is history per CNN.  Smart move MTV.

3.  THE COSTUMES FROM THRILLER WERE FROM THE SALVATION ARMY

4.  MICHAEL JACKSON'S CHIMPANZEE BUBBLES HAS TEXAS TIES.

At the height of Michael's popularity he would be seen with his pet chimpanzee Bubbles.  Well here's a fun fact about his beloved pet that Bubbles was born in Austin, Texas and Michael rescued him from a cancer facility in 1985 per the LA Times.

As Bubbles gotten older he became more aggressive and was sent away in 2005 over concerns it would harm Prince Michael II.  Bubbles was sent away to the Center for Great Apes in Florida.

Michael Jackson is the definition of "BAD" as he has 2 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  One as a solo artist and the other one he shares with his brothers The Jackson 5.  Next time you're in Los Angeles go on a scavenger hunt and find them.

Regardless of the many fun facts of Michael Jackson he is truly one of a kind and will be truly missed.
