32 People Spent Thanksgiving Weekend In Jail In Gregg County
Thanksgiving is when families come together to fellowship, remember, update, and catch up, play games, have fun, and feast on turkey and dressing.
It's inevitable that an argument will break out over politics or the outcome of a sporting event, and usually, those arguments are mild. However, in some cases, though, they do get out of hand, and law enforcement must be called out to tame the situation.
That's what happened at several family gatherings last Thanksgiving and unfortunately, it resulted in some individuals being removed from the situation and taken to jail.
In addition to patrolling the family dinner table, Gregg County law enforcement was also patrolling the streets for impaired drivers, which they caught several.
This time of the year drinking and driving is a huge issue. With so many social gatherings and parties to attend, we just need to be responsible and arrange for a safe ride home. There are so many more options available to us today than previously.
Of the felony arrests that have been reported since Thanksgiving in Gregg County, besides driving under the influence the one arrest that sticks out to me is - IMPROPER RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EDUCATOR/STUDENT - I will not understand how this continues to happen.
Teachers are adults who should know that getting into a relationship with a student is simply against the law, yet it continues to happen. I'm just thankful that law enforcement was alerted to the situation in the classroom and that this person was removed from the classroom.
As we take a look at the felony arrests made in Gregg County last week, here are some of the most serious charges:
- IMPROPER RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EDUCATOR/STUDENT
- DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED 3RD OR MORE
- INJURY CHILD/ELDERLY/DISABLE W/INT BODILY INJ
