If you live in Texas, then you already know, scorpions can totally ruin your day, but we know that scorpions in Texas are a usual sight.  But now, many Texans are saying they're seeing scorpion's in their homes way more than usual!

Over on Reddit, one concerned Texan asked "Is anyone seeing a lot of scorpions right now?" and the consensus was: YES! Who invited these guys?

It's not unusual to see a scorpion or two in your home- especially during the summer. It also probably doesn't help that one of the largest scorpion species in the world just gave birth in the Houston area. However, if you're like me, you're noticing an uptick in scorpion sightings in your home! I think this summer alone, I've seen or had to kill 5 scorpions in my home; trust me that is way more than usual!

A senior program specialist with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service told that the best way to deal with this issue is exclusion. Any small gaps underneath doors or walls can allow scorpions entry to wander in where they don’t belong. Re-caulking any cracks or gaps, as well as replacing worn-out weather stripping or purchasing new sweeps or seal extensions, act as an effective blockade for future invaders.

They also suggested pruning trees and shrubs and not stacking firewood or other items against the house. If the problem persists, call a pest control professional.

Apparently, there are not scorpions in Texas that are lethal, but man, can that sting get you!
