I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar!

Sometimes, when you step outside of your comfort zone and self imposed limits, you surprise yourself with the things you didn't know that you could do and that's exactly what I did over the weekend.

Ever since becoming single and no longer having my daddy to call on, I've had to learn to do a lot of things for myself, like changing out the lever on my toilet or fixing the latch on my storm door. Let's just say I've watched a lot of instructional YouTube videos over the last year and a half.

I know it sounds silly, but I didn’t know I could fix a toilet. I’m learning all kinds of fun things about what I am capable of doing now. It turns out that I'm not alone and that being independent is awesome. In fact, my friend Stephanie, a single friend of mine from Chicago just fixed her own garbage disposal! My friend Ruth recently learned how to replace the belt on a riding lawn mower. You geaux girls!
