I moved to Texas when I was in junior high. Even before I moved to this state I knew the love that Texas had for the Dallas Cowboys. They are America's team. So what happened when we went to watch a game at a restaurant in Dallas didn't really surprise me. It did surprise others.

So it was Christmas Eve and the Cowboys were playing. We decided to go to Boomer Jacks to watch some football. Silly me thought the group I was with wanted to watch the Cowboys game. I mean who else is there?

Apparently, there was another game going on that my family wanted to see. So the Chicago Bears were also playing the Phoenix Cardinals, at the same time. My family who lives in Phoenix and once lived in Chicago wanted to see that game. They didn't understand where they were.

How do I know that? When we walked into Boomer Jack's they were surprised to see every single TV on the Dallas Cowboys game. I mean every single one. I tried to explain this is Dallas.

They argued with me that when they are in Phoenix or Chicago they can go to any sports bar and see any game they want. They did not expect to see every single TV again on the Dallas Cowboys game. I tried to explain that Dallas fans are not like other sports fans. They really are not.

I have one friend who after any Cowboys game, win or lose will express his excitement that the Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl—every single game. This is how serious we are about our team.

Across the street from where we were watching football on Christmas Eve is a Raising Canes. OK, nothing too crazy about that except that this Raising Canes was just transformed into a Dallas Cowboys Raising Canes.

This was something that Post Malone had his hand in. Again, the Dallas Cowboys are something else.

So what happened when we walked in and part of my group wanted to watch a different game? Well, Dallas fans are something else that is for sure but they are also hospitable. So not too surprising that they did show their grace and Southern ways. They put one TV near our table on the Chicago/Phoenix game.

My family was happy and got to watch their game. We got to watch the Cowboys lose that game. We still had plenty of hope for the season. They got to watch the Cardinals lose....with not as much hope. Everyone was happy this Christmas Eve regardless of the outcome.
