We're all afraid of something; sometimes we have completely rational or irrational fears (being afraid of something that would almost NEVER happen...I know I have them) and it's perfectly natural. And of course we have many things in Texas to be afraid of...

What is the biggest fear that Texans have?

Yes. Apparently the biggest fear we face in the Lone Star State is... love.

Is Texas afraid of love?

When you first think of that question, you probably think "no of course not! I love my state, I love my family, my friends". But the study is talking more about the fear of committed relationships.

This is a very interesting statement because Texas ranks in the bottom 20 states of divorce rates; we had a 10.5 percent divorce rate statewide. However, the amount of domestic violence cases IN the state of Texas has gone up since 2017; resulting in over 500 deaths in 2021. Which, to be fair, is VERY scary to think about.

Despite all of this, Texas ranks #11 amongst the states with the happiest couples in relationships, so the idea that Texas is truly afraid of love is interesting to say the least.
