Jared Leto Tweets & Deletes TRON Sequel Name, Director, and More
TRON / Jared Leto fans rejoice! If you love the crazy digital universe created by Disney movie makers back in 1982 with the original, then continued 28 years later with TRON:Legacy - get ready for what could be the ultimate 3rd act and the culmination of events that started in Flynn's Arcade so many years ago.
In a now deleted tweet, the Bossier City native not only confirmed that he was starring in this high-budget finale(?) to the series, he also leaked the possible title of the film (TRON: ARES), and the name of the director rumored to be tasked with bringing this vision to life - directorial newcomer Garth Davis.
Collider is reporting that "ARES" isn't just the working title of this film (show runners may decide to change the title after Leto's slip), it's also rumored to be the name of the main character (and the one that Jared will reportedly play). That little slip came way back in 2017 when the actor straight-up said he was playing the role.
There is a significant chance that the final film in this trilogy isn't the last we will see of the TRON universe. Industry insiders hinted at the fact that Disney is betting big on the future of this franchise. If the film does well, we could be seeing much more of Leto's ARES in future TRON movies. No release date, filming schedules, or further casting was announced at the time of this report.
