Kid Rock celebrated his 40th birthday, the only way he knows how - LARGER THAN LIFE!  His birthday is actually today, but on Saturday,  he put on a concert for 60,000 fans in Detroit's Ford Field!

It was a star studded event with appearances from Sheryl Crow, Anita Baker, Uncle Kracker, Run D.M.C.'s Rev Run, Peter Wolf and Martina McBride.  It also featured taped appearances from Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Jon Stewart and Beavis & Butthead too!

Kid Rock received a customized 2011 Chevy Camaro and according to Billboard, Kid Rock

gave as well -- including $25,000 each to four local charities.

This extravagant birthday party was like a warm up trial run of his upcoming Born Free Tour, which kicks off in his home state of Michigan on January 21st in Saginaw.

Kid Rock will  be at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie on Thursday, February 3rd for the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam.
