Nobody wants drugs in their community, but unfortunately there are people that will always be using, selling, or transporting the illegal substances and that includes here in Texas. We have amazing law enforcement officers that are working tirelessly to keep the drugs off the streets but it’s a constant cat and mouse game. But did you know one of the largest drug seizures in Texas history just took place?

The details were shared by KHOU, with over 2.2 tons of fentanyl precursors were seized as part of a year-long investigation. 

One suspect in the case, Minsu Fang was charged in Webb County within the Southern District of Texas with four counts including conspiracy to manufacture fentanyl. The suspect was arrested in June of 2024 in New York, if convicted on these latest charges that could mean a punishment of life in prison if convicted of the crimes.  

How Did the Drug Shipments Work? 

Chemicals from China would be sent to cities across the country with incorrect labels to conceal the actual contents. Those boxes would eventually all make their way to Mexico where they would then be made into pills.
