While Two Candidates Hit The Campaign Trail To Move Back Into The White House In D.C., The Owners Of This White House In Texas Are Moving Out.

The first presidential debate was held this week and while we all try to process that, we came across a very interesting home once occupied by a former president that is back on the market after a few short years.

A six-bedroom Dallas home designed to invoke the presidential abode in Washington, D.C., hit the market over the weekend asking $40 million.

The 17,679-square-foot lookalike is located on 3.3 acres on Strait Lane in the sought-after Preston Hollow, perhaps best known as the home of former president George W. Bush, making it a no-fly zone according to Mansion Global.

Other well-known figures who have called the neighborhood home include the likes of business magnates Ross Perot and T. Boone Pickens, as well as investor Mark Cuban and Andy Beal.

The $40 Million Price Tag Is a big jump in price from the $11 million it was asking in 2018.

The Palladian Neoclassical home, first built in 1996, was designed by architect Robbie Fusch with a steel structure to support its 14-foot ceilings, Venetian plaster walls, coffered ceilings and French limestone flooring.

The home presides over an expansive lawn, and a stone courtyard leads up to the signature White House-like semi-circular columned portico, containing a two-story foyer. The owners, Texas financier Toby Neugebauer and his wife, Melissa, added two additional guest suites after moving in to make better use of the home’s nearly 18,000 square feet.
